Residents hold Yajna for rains, 'sanity' for RMC

Social activists and local residents today held a Yajna to woo the rain God Indra and get sanity for Ranchi Minicipal Corporation that they said “has utterly failed to meet expectations of people during water crisis”. The Yajna was performed at lalpur Devi Mandir by Empower Jharkhand a non profit organization.

President of Empower Jharkhand Aditya Vikram Jaisawal said on the occasion that in the wake of extreme heat and water crisis one has to pray to the almighty for rains. “Prayers were also performed to get sanity for RMC officials, who have become total failure in the crisis situation. Due to encroachment of Distillery Pond at Kokar about 25000 people are affected in the locality. We have faith in the Judiciary to get justice,” he said.

“Ranchi was called a city of lakes earlier. Today we need to preserve the water bodies and not disturn them. Even today if the RMC officials do not awake the crisis will get worsened in the coming times,” said 91-year-old Shiv Narayan Jaisawal, who used to be the Chairman of RMC between 1962 and 1976.

Shamshad Ansari, Ravindra Kumar, Munna Ram, Pappu Singh, Ashok Thakur, Ramesh Singh, Nasim Khan and others participated in the event. Pandit Rajesh Pandey and Vikash Kumar performed the Yajna Rituals.
