Minister in charge for district Banna Gupta inaugurated renovated Randhir Verma stadium besides other projects on occasion of completion of two years of CM Hemant Soren led UPA government here today .
The renovation commenced during the BJP rule and now part of it has been completed by the Dhanbad Municipal Corporation.
After renovation the name of the slain IPS officer Randhir Verma who laid down life while fighting Punjab terrorists as Dhanbad Superintendent of Police (SP) on January 3 1991 had gone missing on Tuesday but after protest from.different corners it was renamed after him once again.
Verma was awarded Ashok Chakra , the highest galantary award for peace time act of bravoury posthumously as he has also killed two
terrorists who involved in robbery but but was shot dead by another.
As DMC prepares for the inauguration of the renovated stadium the missing name of the slain IPS has astonished many sports lovers who had lodged protest and even tweeted to the CM too.
Protests evoked quick response from DMC
and again it was renamed after the slain IPS officer ahead of inauguration.
Besides , this foundation of a total of Rs 231 crores worth projects were laid by CM online amidst presence of health minister and respective MLAs .Projects worth Rs 49 crores were inaugurated including the aforementioned stadium here.
