Ready to join BJP: RK Kishore

Former Congress leader Radha Krishna Kishore who resigned from the party only last week is open to join the BJP. Though no formal discussion in this regard has taken place but talks are on between the two. It is likely that any development can take place soon and well ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Talking to The Pioneer former MlA who had served the Congress in several capacities said on Monday that he was the victim of straightforwardness.

“No one in the Congress wants to listen any logical and correct things. All those who had spoken openly and expressed their minds on crucial issues have been sidelined. I was feeling suffocated thus I quit and now preparing independently. But as far as joining the BJP is concerned if I get offer then I will surely think over it,” said he.

Kishore was a member of All India Congress Committee and appointed spokesperson of Jharkhand Congress very recently before he decided to call it a day. He had been a dalit face of the party and considered a winnable candidate from Chhatarpur Assembly constituency in Palamu. He has been vocal against the Congress joining hands with the JMM for the sake of the Government.

“I still cannot understand why the decision was taken. Also when it went horribly wrong why only one person (PCC president Sukhdeo Bhagat) should be blamed for itIJ What about those who remained in Centre as a Minister and had not opposed the decisionIJ What morality they have to form a separate group after their losing the lok Sabha and just ahead of another election,” asked Kishore, criticising the internal bickering and work culture widespread into his former party.

Though speculations about his leaving the Congress was doing rounds for quite some time and considering the nearing Assembly polls it was on the cards.

His joining the saffron party is considered a certainty especially after his close relative VD Ram winning lok Sabha polls on the BJP’s ticket from Palamu. However, his entry into the BJP depends on several factors.

“It is not within my purview. What I could have done was to quit the party and I am not sure about what will happen in future. It is not in my hands,” explained Kishore. Nevertheless he is focusing completely on Chhatarpur seat and has reported to have developed a renewed rapport with the voters since his lost last time.

This can prove an edge in his favour during the November-bound elections.

Indications are that his chances of winning the seat would improve manifold if he gets ticket from the saffron party.
