Two families have not got their entitlements for eight months due to not having their Aadhaar linked with their ration cards. According to Danda Pramukh Birendra Chaudhry, card holders Khunti Devi and Rampatiya Devi of Bhikhahi village under Danda block, with Ration card nos. 202000174642 and 202000174643 respectively have not got any grain from PDS shop due to this technical issue.
While there are a total of 16 members in both Ration card. After issued a press release Chaudhry further said that when he contacted to PDS dealer Pramod Chaudhry he informed that these ration card holders do not have Aadhaar or mobile number linked with their ration cards and their ration has not been given after November. While Kunti Devi and Ramapatiya Devi were deposited photo copy of the Aadhaar card to PDS shopkeeper and MO about half a dozen time, he mentioned.
Surprisingly on December 12, when both of them went to collect ration to the PDS leader he said that their ration cards have been canceled. The incident is not limited to just the two beneficiaries but reports coming in suggest that there are 951 beneficiaries in Danda block without Aadhaar or mobile linkage preventing their biometric details to be verified. District Supply Officer of Garhwa informed about in the meeting of the District Council in writing.
"One side the Government says 'no one will die of hunger'. Kunti Devi and Ramapatiya Devi have not been given ration for months. If they die, the administration will awake and will say that Kunti Devi and Ramapatiya Devi have not been died due to hunger! Due to the red tapism thousands of people are deprived from ration today," alleged Chaudhry.
