Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Super 30’, the biopic on ace mathematician Anand Kumar from Patna, Bihar released on screens at multiplexes across the Country on Friday including in State Capital and was much appreciated by movie lovers.

“Hrithik Roshan has done wonderful acting in the movie. The director in the movie has tried to capture the life of Anand Kumar magnificently. Leaving aside the length of the movie everything is perfect in the movie,” Kumar Gaurav, a movie buff who has seen movie said. “The film shows many ups and downs that Anand Kumar faced while running Super 30 and how he sacrificed his personal gains to make Super 30 a success.  It is a great motivational movie,” Gaurav further said.

Talking to the Pioneer over phone, Anand Kumar said, “The hardship and difficulties, which I have faced I don’t want others (children coming from economically poor back ground) to face. Every year through Super 30, I select 30 talented students from economically poor background. These students stay in my house, cooked food prepared by mother and they have none other than any other job but to study.”  Anand further said, “In around two decades sons and daughters of labourers, rickshaw puller, auto driver, marginal farmers, jobless and others have cracked IITs under my guidance.”

The life of Anand Kumar is an inspiration for every common man. The man through his hard work received a seat in the prestigious University of Cambridge, but due to financial crunch he failed to join the University of Cambridge. Poor Anand had to even visit door-to-door looking for sponsorship. When Anand was young his father passed away and he along with his brother Pranav were forced to sell fries made by his mother on the streets of Patna.  In 2002, Anand got the idea to launch Super 30 which offers free coaching for IIT entrance examination to meritorious students coming from the weaker section of the society. Selected students stay with Anand in his Patna residence and are provided food for free during their stay. So far this one-of-its-kind initiative has been able to send more than 400 of its students to different IITs of the country while the remaining have been selected for other elite engineering colleges.

Prior to movie, several books and documentaries have been written and  made on Anand’s life, but this is for the first time any movie has been made on Anand’s life.
