The people of the State welcome the new Government formed on Sunday under the leadership of CM Raghubar Das with high expectations of development and change. Corruption, law and order, security and infrastructure are some of the issues city populace wants quick actions upon.
Sanjeev Ranjan, ICICI Bank Executive
“Jharkhand is known in the country as the centre of corruption; hence the new Government must focus on eradicating corruption. This Government must last. The party leaders must not fight among themselves. Only then any agreement can be made on policies.”
Dr Rajkumar, Senior Resident Physician, Gandhinagar Hospital, CCl
“The new Government must show changes in all sectors- security, law and order, infrastructure, economy, etc. The medical infrastructure in the State is very piteous. Poor people do not get proper medical care. Hence Government must look at such issues. Stable State Government will ensure faster implementation of laws. The State will come at par with other States of the country.”
Poonam Bhatia, Housewife
“All we can do is hope for something better now. Nobody was happy with the previous rulers in the State. Security of the common people must be important. Traffic problems must be solved. Modi Government at the Centre has taken steps to reduce price hike so I hope that at the State-level too, the Government will make similar policies for a comfortable living of the people of the town.”
KK Pandey, Senior scientist at Gas Authority of India ltd
“I am optimistic about the new Government but with some caution. It is not necessary that good changes will only follow. Jharkhand has seen a policy paralysis in the past 14 years. If that is solved, most of the problems will be solved. I expect the new Chief Minister will be confident about what he does and strong decision maker. Only then his team will be disciplined.”
Keka Roy, Social worker
“I am very happy with the new Government. I believe he is a very competent leader for this State. Under him, every sector will progress. People must also cooperate with him because only then we can talk of a development. The previous Governments did not do any good for this State. Hence, now we see a light of hope.”
