Ranchi University (RU) students pursuing vocational studies can seek a better placement future as the university is working on deploying one vocational coordinator at every college.
According to a university official, the colleges under RU fail to provide satisfactory placements to their vocational students as they are unable to get the information about the placement schedules of companies visiting the University Placement Cell.Describing the details about this process University Vocational Studies Coordinator Dr AK Choudhary said, “Assigning one vocational coordinator for every affiliated college in order to manage the placement of the students through university’s placement cell will help in bridging the gap between the companies coming for recruitment at university level and for the students aspiring to grab a placement.”
“From next week onwards, our University Placement coordinator Pramod Kumar will visit every college so that students are aware of the role of placement cell working at Morhabadi campus. Being single handed, it is not possible for Pramod Kumar to manage placements of college students belonging to different vocational subjects like Biotechnology, Management, Computer Applications and Mass Communication,” added Dr Choudhary. He also said, “Not all colleges have turned up for this initiation, though, we have received e-mail IDs of a few vocational coordinators for this purpose.” The two colleges, based in Simdega and Gumla have already been apprised of the plan.
