Crying foul play, family of the first Radio Jockey (RJ) of Ranchi Sneha Singh, who was found dead in a hotel a room at Munger in Bihar, has demanded answer to the questions they have raised before Bihar Police. According to Sneha’s father, excuses being given by the police are converging the matters.
Sneha Singh’s half naked body was found in a hotel room on Monday, while the police on Wednesday, referring to the medical reports declared her death to be suicide. Sneha’s father, however, has alleged that his daughter has been murdered.
“The condition of the body and the room in which my daughter was found dead indicates that she had been murdered. The excuses being produced by the police clearly indicate that it was a cold-blooded murder,” alleged Sneha’s father BK Singh.
Sneha, on the other hand was not that kind of girl who could commit suicide, said her father. She was a girl of self respect and also a very talented artist without having any record of getting into depression, he added.
Singh also raised questions on police which did not even care to take photographs of her daughter’s body or the hotel room, which is generally taken when a body is found dead for further reference. He also doubts that a person could commit suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling by a towel. Moreover, nothing was found on which she could have climbed on to reach the ceiling to hang herself from the ceiling.
Members of ‘JeeVika’, a project under Bihar livelihood Promotion Society, for which Sneha had been working as a ‘Young Professional’, did not even bother to contact Singh after the incident to express their condolences.
“No one from the organisation in which my daughter was working, has reached us so far,” said Singh.
PRO of Bihar State livelihood Promotion Society however, claims that they were the first to inform Sneha’s family on July 21 and they reached Munger on July 23. “Sneha’s base posting was at Gaya and she often used up-down to discharge her duties for the one month project at Munger. The organisation pays 25 per cent more daily and travel allowance in order to secure better living conditions for its female staff,” said PRO of BSlPS Rajesh Parimal.
Meanwhile, friends of Sneha who are not ready to believe that she can ever commit suicide have initiated a ‘Facebook’ account- ‘Justice for Sneha’ in order to get justice for her. The account so far has received more than 1.5 thousand likes with a demand to get the culprit behind the bars. Her friends are also crying foul play by the organisation in connivance with the Munger Police.
“It is a high profile murder case, which was also reported by the police initially. She had told us that something wrong was going on in the organization on which she had to submit a report on. Moreover, she had also mentioned about some strange incidence which had was taking place with her in the last few months,” said one of the friend Kalpana.
“Someone had barged in her hotel room while she had gone to Patna in the month of November early in the morning at 4:30 pm,” added Kalpana. Few days prior to the incident Sneha had told her close friend that she feared her life was in danger, she said.
Police’s role in the case is also being questioned given the fact that it took the body for postmortem in haste and did not bother to take vaginal test. When Sneha’s father raised question, forensic experts were called in from Patna to take vaginal sample, added Kalpana.
Sneha, was found hanging in her hotel room on Monday. She was staying in room number 101 of Hotel Center Point. Singh, a resident of Jamshedpur, had done her schooling from Dakshin Bharat Mahila Samaj School (DBMS) and her graduation from St. Xavier's College, Ranchi. She had recently joined Jeevika, a non-government organisation of Bihar government after completing her MBA from XISS.
