A handheld device was provided to the Train Superintendent for checking the tickets of passengers in Train No. 20839 Ranchi - Rajdhani Express departing from Ranchi on Saturday.
On July 08 the handheld device was used in train number 18616 Hatia - Howrah Kriyayoga Express, which was very successful. Divisional Commercial Manager cum Chief Public Relations Officer Nishant Kumar was present at Ranchi Railway Station today to review the use of this equipment.
The handheld device aims to enhance and simplify the existing train ticket checking process which is done by the on-duty ticket examiner.
Ticket checking staff will be able to know about the vacant seat through handheld devices and will be able to accommodate the passenger with RAC or waiting ticket.
When the ticket booking details are updated, the seat status is known on the device. Passengers with RAC and waiting tickets will be able to check the availability of vacant berths. With this device, the work of collecting fare, fine and other charges from passengers and issuing receipts will also be done.
The use of hand-held devices will facilitate the passengers, save paper and bring more transparency in the work.
