Ranchi needs more flyovers: Barsa Gari

Published on:

Disgruntled with the system at Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC), mayoral candidate Barsa Gari has taken up the challenge to bring the change in the system by making herself part of the very system. “My decision to contest mayoral election stems from my interactions with the system at RMC,” said Gari.

According to Gari, RMC, often known for stonewalling works on some pretext or the other has created an image which is not in sync with the responsibilities entrusted on it. “I have faced lot of problems in last five years,” said Gari adding “getting any work done was next to impossible.”

Compelled by reasons of her own for contesting election; Gari claims that she possesses determination to accomplish tasks, something which was non-existent in incumbent board members of the RMC.

“Earlier members relied too much on the Government grants which affected development and maintenance works everywhere in the city,” said Gari. Drawing funds from alternate sources for development works tops on the agenda of Gari.

Interestingly, Gari envisions a congestion free traffic for the people of Ranchi and believes that the city needs for number of flyovers. “I would raise a request for more flyover as three is too little for the city,” added Gari. Although RMC is an organisation among many others created for public service it seldom aligns its activities with such organisations and other elected bodies, a primary reason for its failure in addressing local issues.

Stressing on the communication between different organisations working in the same space Gari said, “There is a lack of coordination between the RMC and Government which I would like to focus on.”

Gari considers herself to be one who can make the system prefect and transparent.
