Adding more to the troubles for Ranchi Mayor Khalkho on Monday, Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act was also added to the money grab case where Rs21.9 lakh was seized by the police from a hotel room on April 7 during a raid conducted ahead of the Municipal polls in Ranchi. With this, Khalkho may have to face problems in obtaining bail from the session court.
“The court of District Judge on Monday allowed the prayer made by the police to add the PC act with the money grab case,” said the District Prosecution Officer BMP Sharma.
“As PC act has also been added with the case, it means they have been found involved in illegal transaction of money hence, no any accused should be granted bail in this case,” added Sharma.
According to the set norms, the case will now be transferred to the Vigilance court, he said. They have been charged under section 8,9,10 and 139(D) of PC Act.
Meanwhile, lower court records regarding the bail petition of Sudheer Kumar Sahu were submitted before the court of AJC I JPN Panday which will be heard on Tuesday.
