Teen cricketing sensation from Ranchi Ishan Kishan has become apple of Ranchiites’ eye as he looks forward to lead India U-19 team at World Cup event scheduled to begin from January 27 in Bangladesh. Ishan’s selection as the captain of the India U-19 squad was made public on December 22.
“He (Ishan) is consistent in his performance and his name used crop up frequently during interaction with seniour players who were impressed by Ishan’s performance. It gives a good feeling that someone from Ranchi is representing India,” said former Bihar captain and CCl team’s first skipper, Adil Hussain.
The prodigious talent of Ishan Kishan was first identified by SAIl officials some three and half years back when he had just arrived Ranchi at the behest of Arun Vidyarthi, Captain of SAIl Sports Club. Accordingly, SAIl management had given all support recognizing the vast potential he had for making India proud. A resident of SAIl Satellite Township, Ishan has been playing for SAIl for the last few years in Ranchi District league, JSCA Office Cricket league and several invitation tournaments outside Jharkhand also.
