Ranchi DIG Sheetal Oraon visited the New Police line on Tuesday morning and inspected the arrangements there. He inspected the parade first and then carried on with the inspection.
Firstly on arrival, he inspected the parade of police personnel on foot. He looked at the parade closely and in the process pointed at the dissimilar uniform worn by the police personnel in the parade.
He was upset about the fact that many of the policemen in parade were either wearing uniforms in wrong manner or with mismatching accessories. He also pointed out that some were wearing uniforms with faded colour.
The DIG stated that every police officer is given the same uniform so that all can look alike and they should keep it in mind. He also instructed Sergeant Major Rajiv Kumar to ensure that next time, all the police officials are in proper and similar uniform.
DIG Oraon then went on to have a look at the police armoury located at the Police lines. He was satisfied with the security and other arrangements at the armoury but still directed that the place needs to be kept cleaner.
He also pointed that the buildings are in somewhat bad shape. On this Ranchi SSP Saket Kumar Singh informed that some new buildings are to be constructed at the Police line.
After completing his rounds, Oraon went to Sergeant Major’s office and checked a few files there.
