In order to keep a close vigil on eve-teasers and anti-social elements this Dushehra, Ranchi Police has planned a fool-proof arrangement in the puja pandals. Policepersonnel will be deployed at all important points along with the men in civil uniform. Volunteers have also been called in to assist police during the puja rush.
Security forces, both male and female have been deputed in and outside the puja pandals who will be assisted by volunteers from ‘Mahila Surksha Dasta’ and other organisations along with the regular patrolling of Tiger and Panther bikes across the city,” said Ranchi City SP Manoj Ratan Chauthe.
As many as 60 tiger and panther mobile bikes will remain on the roads during the Puja engaging about 120 men on it, added Chauthe. Besides that about 15-18 Cheetah mobiles will also be there to take care of security on the roads, he added.
According to Chauthe, one battalion of Rapid Action Force has also been called in from Jamshedpur for Puja this time.
Puja pandals have been directed to make arrangements to install Close Circuit TV (CCTV) camera’s in and out the pandals. “Puja Samitis have been asked to install CCTV cameras to the main approach roads to puja pandals as well as parking places for a better control over the crowd,” said SSP Saket Kumar Singh.
Besides that anti sabotage team have also been deputed at pandals this time. Traffic arrangements have also been changed to secure hassle free traffic during this puja.
