Onpery® Menstrual Cup by Care Form Labs Pvt. Ltd, a start-up incorporated by two industrial designers, Pramod Priya Ranjan and Dr Prof Nachiket Thakur in January 2020 at Ranchi, Jharkhand, has been awarded ‘CII Design Excellence Award 2021’ in Product Design — Wellness and Personal Care Category, initiated by CII (The Confederation of Indian Industry), on December 09, during the 21st India Design Summit.
Onpery® Menstrual Cup is the first designed-in-India patent-applied and indigenous menstrual cup of India, by the SDGs centric design Start-up called Care Form Labs Pvt. Ltd.
A total 16 applications got the award in their respective categories. Pramod Priya Ranjan presented the case study of Onpery® Menstrual Cup on 10th December 2021 at the 21st India Design Summit, along with other awardees.
The product has novel values like it is easy-to-insert in the vagina, easy-to-remove, cervix-friendly, etc. The menstrual cup can be reused for about 5 years and hence replaces about 650 sanitary napkins. It is perhaps the most economical, sustainable and hygienic menstrual product to which Care Form Lab Pvt. Ltd. has made it more comfortable by redesigning as compared to any generic cup out there.
The company has been doing pilot of the product in last few months among different channels and groups. As they have been gathering crucial insights from the market, in the coming few months the company is looking forward to accelerating market outreach and making an impact.
The product is co-designed by Prof. Dhimant Panchal, Shreya Yengul, Alomi K. Parikh, along with Pramod Priya Ranjan and Dr. Prof. Nachiket Thakur.
