Bombs recovered from the Hindpiri-based lodge on Monday were more powerful than those used in Patna blasts, according to State Police. Spokesperson of Jharkhand Police SN Pradhan talking to the media persons on Tuesday also added that indigenous technology has been used for preparing the bombs instead of using specialized expertise. No foreign link, however, has been established so far, he added.
“The bombs which have been recovered from Iram lodge were more intense than those which were used in the Patna blasts,” said ADG (Modernisation and l&O) and Jharkhand Police spokesperson SN Pradhan.
No sophisticated expertise was required to prepare these bombs, which could be prepared by anybody with stuffs like water pipes, ammonium nitrate and its compound — sodium as well as filaments used in series bulbs, used in day to day life, he added. No complicated circuit was used for preparing the bombs, he said.
According to Pradhan, bombs recovered from the lodge could be the part of a whole lot prepared together and distributed in different parts to strike accordingly. “These IEDs seem to be the leftovers of a lot prepared together similar to those used in Patna blasts,” Pradhan said. Calling it an alarm for the Jharkhand Police, Pradhan said evidences collected earlier in the last few years are being tapped by them.
Pradhan also made it clear that no foreign link has been established so far with Ranchi module of Indian Mujahedeen. “As the investigations so far the IM module busted in Ranchi has no foreign links and was basically acting inside the country,” he said.
Pradhan, however, said that the police need to take extra precaution with regard to the students residing inside the lodges especially in Ranchi which has a big lot of mobile population. “Although, time to time reports are being taken from the lodge owners about those who are staying there but some gaps have also been reported which needs to be kept in place to prevent such incidents in future. We need to verify each and every lodge on the lines of Delhi police,” he added.
Meanwhile, three family members of Mujibul Ansari, the persons whose room was raided and recovery of bombs made on Monday night have been detained from Ormanjhi in Ranchi for interrogation by the investigating agencies.
‘Uzair worked as a motivator’
According to police, Uzair Ahmed, IM suspect arrested by NIA from Mani Tola under Doranda police station in Ranchi on October 29, had been working silently and used to motivate people to be inducted as cadres in the organisation. Uzair was treated as an elder brother by Manzar Imaam and others.
“Finances arranged in the form of donations for religious purposes were sometimes diverted towards these organizations without the knowledge of donators,” said Pradhan. Uzair is said to have provided financial support to Haider, another IM suspect also involved in Patna blasts.
