In a major breakthrough against extremism, Ramgarh Police, on Friday, arrested five militants of banned organization Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) with weapons.
Addressing media person Ramgarh Superintendent of Police (SP), Prabhat Kumar informed that on May 12, at around 8:00 pm, in village-Lem of Basal police station area, unidentified criminals assaulted laborers, arson and firing on the bridge under construction on Simra River, demanding extortion. In the light of which Basal Police Station Case No. 9/22 dated March 13, 2022 Section 341/323/385/387/435/379 B.D.V and 27 Arms Act was filed.
“In view of the seriousness of the incident, a special raiding team was formed to investigate the case. During the investigation active members of banned terrorist organization TPC, Sunil Munda, Abhishek Singh alias Tolu, Vicky Munda alias Bhagat, Abhishek Karmali alias Karu, Rahul Munda were arrested. The arrested accused admitted that they were involved in the above case, they gave their confession statements and recovered one country-made pistol and three live bullets, one country-made pistol and two live bullets used in the incident from the crime spot. All the three motorcycles used in the incident have also been recovered, for which separate Patratu police station case number 87/22 dated 19 March 2022 Section 25(1-B)A26/35 Arms Act and CLA of 17 Act has been registered,” said Kumar.
The SP further said that the goods confiscated by the accused included a loaded country-made pistol from the accused Sunil Munda, three live bullets, a redmi mobile, a country-made pistol from Abhishek alias Golu, two live bullets, a Pulsar bike and two black bikes and one Android mobile phone have been confiscated by the Basal police station, which is related to the TPC organization.
Patratu Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Virendra Kumar Chaudhary, Patratu zone Police Inspector, Lileshwar Mahto, Patratu Police Station In-Charge, Shashi Prakash, Basal Police Station In-Charge, Rajdeep Kumar, Bhadani Nagar police Station In-Charge, Sonu Kumar, Nirmal Oraon, Sonu Kumar Sahu, Chetan Kumar Singh, Afzal Ansari, Armed forces of Patratu police station and Basal police station were involved.
