Unsettled with humiliating defeat in the parliamentary polls not far ago the Congress witnessed another low on Tuesday. Coming all the way from Delhi to attend the 'chintan shivir', a postmortem organised by the Jharkhand Congress, former Union Minister and senior leader of the party Jairam Ramesh felt the heat from his own party workers.
Handful of Congress workers made repeated attempts to barge into the meeting venue shouting 'Jairam Ramesh down-down' and 'go back-go back'. They once even tried to hit Ramesh with arsenals such as tomato and rotten eggs which was made futile by the security men and other party workers.
The agitated workers before burning the effigy of the former Minister and painting its face black on the main gate of the venue questioned the very presence of Ramesh in the State. "In what capacity he is here to attend the chintan shivirIJ Is he an office bearer or in-charge of party in JharkhandIJ If he is here with the capacity of chairperson of the coordination committee then why other coalition parties are not here," said Anurag Kumar who protested vociferously with handful of party workers.
