The Waseeypur locality that usually comes in news headlines for its notorious gangsters is again in news but for a different issue.
This time the railways has launched an anti encroachment drive to get its land free from encroaches who built pukka structures illegally.
About a month ago 75 such buildings were given notice to remove structures after measurement of land by the railway authorities and the drive was launched on Monday to remove them as the encroaches failed to remove the structures .
Armed with RPF and district police magistrate by district administration, railway authorities demolished 25 such structures including part of a prominent school building that was illegally constructed on the railway land .
Magistrate DS Prasad said the drive would continue till all identified structures that were served notice were not removed.
Railway sources said ,all illegal structures right from Rangatand to Aara More on either side of the tracks would be removed as railways required the land for laying tracks for dedicated freight corridors and fast moving trains like Rajdhani express trains. ONCE completed the distance between Kolkata to new delhi would be completed in 12 hours from existing 17hours of traveling time .
Attempts of political interference failed as those leaders who had assured to get work stopped failed to do so.
