Achchhe din (good days) are about to come for the residents of Hazaribagh as the most awaited rail project seems to be started in the month of December as the railways has decided to run a passenger train on this route to fulfill the needs of people of the area.
Railway officials are gearing up to run the rail on Koderma-Ranchi via Hazaribagh rail route and the project started by the former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is towards completion in the regime of now NDA Government. The dream of rail movement in this area is going to be true after 67 years of independence.
According to The Chief Public Relation Officer(CPRO) Arvind Kumar Rajak the Engineers of construction department are camping at Koderma and Hazaribag Town and the Commissioner of Rail Safety (CRS) lucknow, Prabhat Kumar Vajpayee will inspect the new rail line on 3rd and 4th December. On his two days visit CRS Vajpayee would be at Koderma on 3rd of December and will inspect the new rail track on the route from Koderma to Padma a stretch of 35 Kilometers and then Padma to Hazaribag on next day a stretch of 20.5 Kilometers. lN Jha Chief Administrative Officer(CAO) East Central Railway Mahendru, B Bsingh,Divisional Rail Manager (DRM) Dhanbad and other Railways Officers will be their at the moment.
Notable the project’s stone was laid in the year 1999 by then Prime Minister AtalBihari Vajpayee in stately presence of then Rail Minister Nitish Kumar and then energy minister P Kumar Mangalam. The project was targeted to complete in the year 2006 ata estimated cost of 2957.21 crore.Two other rail projects’ stone were also laid at that time one was Koderma-Giridih rail line a stretch of 110 kilometers ata estimated cost of 768.87 crore and andKoderma Rail line at estimated cost of 418.17 crore. It is also significant that train movement was started on the Koderma-Giridih route previous year up to Nawadih a stretch of 35 kilometers. A single rack is on ferrying passengers from Koderma to Nawadih and Nawadih to Koderma. The another rail project on Koderma-Ranchi via Hazaribag is going to be start after 15 years ofter start if technically every thing found up to mark in CRS inspection and CRS shows green signal to the project.
