BJP Mahila Morcha national president Vijaya Rahatkar on Saturday praised State BJP Mahila Morcha officer bearers and workers for what they were already doing in order to strengthen the party up to booth level. At the same time, she also encouraged workers to raise the bar of standard of the service in every possible way so that steps taken by the government to empower women in Jharkhand could be advocated and taken to every single woman of the State living in the farthest regions of the State.
Rahatkar, who is also chairperson of State Women Commission (Maharashtra), was here in the city to inaugurate two-day State BJP Mahila Morcha working committee meeting which was started at Sarla Birla Public School in Mahilong (Ranchi) with a training session for workers soon after inaugural session of the meeting concluded on Saturday.
State BJP president laxman Gilua, State BJP Mahila Morcha president Aarti Singh, Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) Mayor Asha lakra, Jharkhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (JSCPCR) Chairperson Aarti Kujoor, State Women Commission chairperson Kalyani Sharan, State BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Dharmapal Singh, State BJP vice president Pradeep Verma Priya Singh who is also State BJP Mahila Morcha in-Charge, former State BJP Mahila Morcha president Aarti Rana, office bearers of districts and hundreds of others were present on the occasion.
During 2nd State BJP Working Committee meeting, Rahatkar said that governments, both at the Centre and in State, were working excellent with their focus on people-centric plans. “It is not something ordinary that over 80 percent of loan seekers under Mudra Yojna have been women so far. Be it Pradhanmantri Ujjawala Yojna, Beti Bachaao Beti Padhaao or others, government under leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken steps for women empowerment what the Congress couldn’t do in its six decades of rule,” said Rahatkar.
She asked workers to intensify their efforts of reaching up to the people, especially women, to inform and make them aware of programmes being run by the government for them and how they could get benefit from those programmes. Though she refused to comment over why the Union government remained reluctant at moving forward with at least 33 per cent reservation for women in law making institutions, she expressed satisfaction with BJP providing maximum opportunities for women in party and organisation.
Gilua said, on the occasion, that Mahila Morcha was doing great in the State. He, however, asked them to reach out to every single woman and take government plans meant for them up to their doorsteps as far as awareness about those programmes was concerned.
“Moreover, we will have to falsify JMM’s lie on every other occasion that separate Jharkhand State was a result of their sole effort. There are tribal areas where people still believe that Shibu Soren was the reason of a separate Jharkhand State. We have to inform them that it was the BJP government led by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at that time who took a decision to carve out three states, Jharkhand being one of them,” said Gilua. He also expressed hope of winning all 14 lok Sabha seats in the State and over two-third majority in State Assembly elections scheduled in 2019.
