BJP national vice president and former chief minister Raghubar Das on Monday targeting the State government said that the present government has cheated tribal and local students, as JMM/Congress alliance’s poll promises of creating jobs has failed. The BJP leader said that the government is anti-farmer, anti-women, anti-youth.
The former chief minister said that the present government has failed to create jobs but is on the move of snatching jobs from people of the State.
Speaking against the State government decision to cancel the recruitment policy, Das said that the present government is a confused government; it moves a step forward but at the same time takes another step backward.
Das said, “There is no clarity in government. Due to its confusing steps the government gets entangled in its own trap. The latest example of this is the return of the recruitment policy.” Das further said that since the formation of the state of Jharkhand, there has been a demand that the jobs of class III and IV should be given to Jharkhandis only, but there was no effort in this direction.
“Our government formulated recruitment policy in 13 notified districts of the state, which came into force in 2016. According to this policy, the third and fourth category in 13 notified districts was reserved for locals of that district. Residents of the same districts where to get jobs.”
A committee was also formed under the chairmanship of the then minister Amar Bauri, so that in the remaining 11 districts too similar policy was implemented, but the present government has decided to end this policy.
Das said that the process of appointment of 4000 panchayat secretaries was completed in the previous government, they were to give only appointment letters but this could not happen due to the model code of conduct.
Similarly in other departments including radio operators, special branches the appointment process was completed, but the present government has stopped all the appointment process.
It may be recalled that the Jharkhand High Court in September last year cancelled the recruitment of thousands of teachers and officials that was finalized on a 2016 policy providing 100 per cent reservation for local candidates living in 13 scheduled districts of the state, describing it as a violation of fundamental rights.
The court declared the policy null and void and scrapped the advertisement that was issued to announce the recruitment drive in 2016. The then government headed by chief minister Raghubar Das had advertised for 17,572 vacancies of teachers in the state in 2016.
Das said that if there were anomalies in State recruitment policy as cited by the High Court the State government should have approached the Supreme Court, but the State government failed to do so. The former chief minister dared JMM/Congress government to declare State recruitment policy.
