Congress legislators from State meet Rahul Gandhi

In a move to revamp and strengthen the party organisation in the State, All India Congress Committee (AICC) former president and Senior Leader, Rahul Gandhi met the State Congress MLAs in the National Capital on Tuesday. After the meeting he said that the coalition government of the State will run smoothly only when the party organization is strong in the State.

JPCC In Charge, Avinash Pandey, JPCC Co-in Charge, Umang Singhar, JPCC Chief Rajesh Thakur, along with senior leaders like, Subodhkant Sahay, Ajoy Kumar and all MLAs of the party were present. Gandhi also directed the JPCC Chief to organize a three-day Chintan Shivir scheduled on February 17, 18, and 19 in the State Capital.

During the meeting various Congress MLAs said to have expressed displeasure of the functioning of the coalition government in the State. During the meeting, the former National President instructed all the MLAs to work on the strength of the party organization so that they would be able to stop the “anti-national policy” of BJP. With this basic mantra, Gandhi sent back all the MLAs of the party.

After the meeting, Avinash Pandey Singh said, “Whatever doubts were in the minds of our MLAs regarding the state, organization and alliance, they were discussed with the party senior leadership. The conversation turned positive. Gandhi directed all the MLAs to unite and implement the party programmes, Common Minimum Programme.”

On a question of 27 per cent reservation for OBCs, Pandey said that it is included in the election manifesto of Congress. “Our party will not compromise with the words of its manifesto. We will put pressure on the Government regarding this. Also we will speak through coordination. Whatever promises we have made to the people of Jharkhand, we will definitely fulfill them,” he added.

Apart from this the Party MLAs showed interest in participation in the decision of the State Government. “The MLAs complain that the authorities do not listen to them. In such a situation, it becomes difficult to solve the problems of the common people. The MLA also put the linguistic issue before Rahul,” he added.

Singhar said that AICC former Chief attentively listened to the voice of the MLAs and appealed that they strengthen the organization in the State so that the coalition government in the State could perform better. Singhar also said that the former AICC Chief also assured the MLAs that their issues would be resolved soon.
