The main sculptures of Goddess will be decorated with minute pearls,” said, Rajasthan Mitra Mandal Puja Club, president, Ashok Purohit.
Similarly, members of other two puja samitis, Kantatoli and Dhurwa have also adopted the green way for the first time to reduce effluence. The member of Dhurwa Durga Puja samiti, Kumar Rahul said, “Figurines are the major attraction every year. Also, use of plaster of paris, synthetic paints and other decorative stuffs makes in more harmful from environmental perspectives during idol immersion process. Considering this, the huge statuettes at our pandals will be made only using top soil. Earthen lights will be used for decoration in heavy quantity.”
