CCTV cameras that would be installed at puja pandals this time by the respective organizers on puja getting over would be re-installed at strategic locations in the markets.
This great magnanimity has been shown in the sadar sub division of Palamu at the behest of SDPO Sadar Sandip Kumar Gupta, who in all his peace meets over the puja festivities in his police sub division had made a point to take unwavering commitment from the puja pandal organizers to gift the CCTV cameras to town’s market once the puja festivity gets over.
Gupta said, “This time we expect a good number of CCTV cameras getting installed in the locations that police wanted most to keep a tab on the criminals and the anti-social elements.”
Describing Chando village wherein 2018 there had broken out communal riot Gupta said the Hindus and the Muslims there now have resolved to ‘forget this ugly past’ and ‘start afresh in an atmosphere of communal harmony and amity’.
Gupta said inspector R R Shahi, OC Sunit Kumar and he held a peace meet at Chando on Wednesday Oct 7 where these two communities asked police to unburden them of the cases lodged against them for the 2018 riot.
SDPO said he has asked the two communities to present themselves in a manner that promotes and strengthens the fabric of communal harmony for all religious functions to come.
