The calls made by different organisations and district administration to make the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan a grand success seem to have fallen on deaf ears, at least for the Puja organisers. Commitment to cleanliness to make the city clean vanished after the Puja ended. Several nooks and corners of the town were found with piles of garbage. The PM’s initiative for cleanliness also seems to have been ignored.
Most of the pandals, after being dismantled, left behind huge garbage on roads. When asked about it, the organisers had no clue whatsoever and rather put the onus on civic body to clean the town. They did not care all about cleanliness near the Puja Pandals after the Puja has passed. The huckster and other shopkeepers left the garbage and mucks.
