Tiger reserve’s elephants are on run killing human who take jungle route to reach home. On Saturday night at Nawar Nagar near Semra Kharn under Chhipadohar West range of the tiger reserve a herd member trampled Budhram Singh to death. Confirming this DFO Core Anil Kumar Mishra said this elephant was from the PTR.
This elephant is of Kujroom latu herd which took the toll of Singh. Five days ago another person identified as Shankar Yadavv was killed by elephant near latoo also. In this new year's first week there has been two casualties by elephants belonging to the sanctuary.
The compensation for such death is 2.50 lakh per casualty and PTR official said that the Singh's bereaved family will immediately get 20,000 for the last rites to be performed. Post mortem is carried out in the casualty.
