Baghmara legislator Dhulu Mahato along with his 40-45 muscle men attacked Barora police station and set free a goon from police custody in Dhanbad district on Sunday.
Dhulu Mahato is a legislator of Jharknad Vikash Morcha (P) from Baghmara constituency under Dhanbad district. Mahato along with his men managed to set free Rajesh Gupta who is said to be his right hand; was held at Barora police station by the district police on the charges of extortion, said DSP Sanjeev Kumar.
“Following the order of the district court police arrested Gupta from his residence at Nichitpur at Katrash on Sunday noon. later with his men MlA forcibly unleashed Gupta from police custody”, added Kumar.
There was a scuffle between the MlA men and policemen, he said. “The uniform of Rambachan Ram (a policeman) was torn into pieces by MlA men”, he added.
Mahato always has been in limelight for the wrong reasons. More than twenty extortion cases has been lodged against the MlA at different police station, said DSP. A case has been lodged at Barora police station against the MlA and his men, said Kumar.
