In the wake of the recent protests by the JPSC candidates for the past 10 days near Raj Bhavan over the rejection of 618 copies, the JPSC issued a press notice stating that the claim made by the students is completely false. The commission in its press notice, said, “As far as the story of 618 copies been rejected is concerned, it is completely misleading. After the interviews are over, the final results will be published for the public.”
This press notice has left the protesting students in a quandary as they remain baffled by the sudden twist of tale here. “Earlier, JPSC had claimed that none of the copies were rejected in the mains examination and also given quotes to leading national dailies on the same lines. How come then now they have gone back on their own saying and claimed that few copies have been rejected due to the misfiling of the OMR numbers on the sheetsIJ Isn’t this kind of response quite contradictory and sounds fishy on part of a respected institution like JPSCIJ We want to get to the bottom of this at the earliest. We will not break our indefinite hunger strike and will continue to demand for justice,” said Imam Shamim, one of the protesting students.
PK Siddharth, of Suraaj Dal, who has joined the students in their cause too rejected JPSC’s press notice and claims foul play. “The press notice claims that the students had wrongly filled up the OMR numbers on the sheets. But, that can be tampered with in the sheets post examination by anybody and then can be rejected by the computer. These many candidates are not fools who have not circled the right options and such. We have demanded for the establishment of a special committee for further investigation into the matter. Another interesting point is that the press release talks about tabulation, which is ridiculous at this point of time. We all know that tabulation cannot be possible before the interviews conclude. Then, how come the commission has mentioned tabulation nowIJ Isn’t all this suggesting towards a scam storyIJ We want definite answers and will continue protesting here till then,” said Siddharth.
