Prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144 have been imposed ahead of panchayat polls in all blocks and sub-division of Bokaro. Holding rallies, sit-ins, meetings and use of loudspeakers need prior permission till the election process concludes, said Manju Rai Swansi SDO Chas.
The administration also put restrictions on defacing of public property, putting up of billboards and banners, and other activities related to polls. For any such activity prior permission has to be obtained from the concerned Nodal officer or District Collector, she said.
“It bans gathering or moving of more than five people at one place also for rallies and protests; bans also includes carrying weapons, firearms as well as any sharp equipment and explosive materials within the 500 metres across the block and dub-division areas,” said the SDO, adding “Officers and staff on election duty will be exempted form this prohibitory orders.”
