Unity in diversity is the identity of our country. People of every religion, community and caste have been living here with mutual solidarity and strength for decades and the whole world recognizes its iron. If we want to see our country as a developed nation, then it is necessary that there should be proper and integrated development of all classes, groups and sections,” said Chief Minister Hemant Soren while addressing the third National Tribal Dance Festival organized in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, as the chief guest on Thursday.
The CM said that many problems of tribals, Dalits and backward classes in many parts of the country including Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Bengal have not been resolved even after 75 years of the country's independence. Our government is trying to solve their problems and pave the way for them to move forward. Organizing special functions for tribals in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh is part of this episode.
The CM said that the tribal community has been playing an important role since ages. This is a class that has struggled for centuries. Today, our government and the government of Chhattisgarh are making continuous efforts towards taking this community forward.
Soren said that Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh are brothers. There are many similarities between both the states. A large tribal population resides in both the states. If you go to some parts of these two states, then you will not know which the area of Chhattisgarh is and which is of Jharkhand. This feature brings both the states very close to each other.
The CM said that about 28-30 per cent of the population of Jharkhand is tribal. But, no special programmes were organized for the tribals ever after the formation of a separate state. For the first time this year, our government organized a grand program on the occasion of World Tribal Day. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attended the function as the chief guest. We organized this event inspired by the National Tribal Dance Festival held in your state so that the country can show the identity of the tribals in front of the world with full strength.
