Although the festival of Durga Puja will begin from October 5, preparation for it is in full swing in State capital. The construction of pandal has started in many areas. People are busy making clay models of Goddess Durga. Artisans from Kolkata already arrived in the city three months ago and have started making clay idols.
This time members of Satya Amar lok have planned to construct their pandal based on the design of famous saas-bahu mandir situated at Rajkot in Harmu road.
The entire pandal will be made of wood; as many as 4,500 pieces of wood will be used in its building. The idol of Goddess Durga will be 12 feet long.
Satya Amar lok Secretary, Kishan Poddar said, “Every year our pandal is based on new theme. This time also we are replicating Rajkot’s famous saas-bahu temple. Our artisans are engaged in erecting the pandal. More than 50 artisans are occupied in this work.”
This time the committee is also planning to place food stalls for the public so that people can enjoy delicious food along with the beauty of temple.
“People use to complain us for not keeping food stall within our premises. This time we have decided to provide them this facility too. In our stalls we will have North Indian and south Indian menu. Water facility will also be provided to them.”
