After long disenchantment and feeling neglected Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) general secretary Praveen Singh on Sunday submitted his resignation from the party. Singh alleging non-democratic functioning in the party on the occasion also blamed its chief Babulal Marandi for the decline. “I have sent by resignation from all the party posts in the morning to the party president. I was pained that there was no democracy left in the party and decisions were taken unanimously.
I feel that Pradeep Yadav (party’s legislative body leader) has hijacked the JVM and often disregard devoted party workers but at the same time I held Babulal Marandi liable for allowing this to happen. Marandi has proved over and again that he lacks leadership qualities and now has been devoid of any authority,” said the outgoing leader who was considered a ‘think tank’ in the party.
Praveen Singh’s decision to end his association though not came as a surprise for many as he was opening sulking with JVM leadership on various issues, including to have coordination with the BJP headed Government in Jharkhand. Besides, he also wanted responsibilities to be fixed for Assembly poll debacle in which the party’s strength came down to eight.
“I cannot understand the strategy to gang up with JMM now. It is just petty politics and the party is nowhere going to be benefited out of this. No decision in the party is being taken collectively and the system for that has been shelved. It was getting difficult to walk along,” said Singh. He at the moment did not reveal his future political steps but said that an apolitical organsiation ‘Nayya Bihan’ (new dawn) which would work for a ‘social revolution’ on the burning issues before the State would come into existence on March 15.
