The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) new office bearers were elected at its executive meeting. At the executive meet which was held at Chamber’s office, Praveen Kumar Jain (Chabbra) was elected unopposed as new president of Chamber.

Jain will be assisted by seven team members who include Dhiraj Taneja and Kishore Mantri as Vice President. Rahul Maru has been made secretary, while Ram Bangar and Deendayal Baranwal have been made joint secretary. The post of treasurer has been given to Paresh Ghattani.

Chamber’s new president Parveen Jain after becoming the new president said, “The trade body FJCCI will work in progress and development of trade and business in the State. At the same time, FJCCI will work in direction of completion of pending projects such as construction of Transport Nagar in the outskirts of Ranchi so that commercial transport gets a parking place.”

Before lockdown in the first week of March this year, the Chamber officials had a meeting with Urban Development department secretary Vinay Choubey for construction of Transport Nagar. The State Government has shown its interest for construction of Transport Nagar at Sukurhutu in Kanke block, but the project is pending due to corona pandemic.

The Sukurhutu Transport Nagar is to come up at an area of 60 acres. The proposed Transport Nagar would solve the illegal parking concerns of the industrial area and would help bring the entire logistics solutions under one roof.

Echoing the views of Jain, Chamber Vice President Dhiraj Taneja said, “The new office bearer of the Chamber will work with the Government for the development of trade and industries in the State. Improvement in law and order will be a priority as better law and order situation in the State brings investments.” Taneja said that improvement of infrastructure facilities, checking corruption at district level and others will be the focus area on which Chamber will work.

Chamber Election Committee coordinator Vishnu Budhia announced the names of new office bearers. This time 21 executive members have been elected unopposed in the chamber. This situation was created due to withdrawal of 23 candidates including Kunal Ajmani. The election was scheduled on December 20, but it was deferred and new office bearers were selected unopposed.

The tenure of the new Chamber will be nine months this time, as election of Chamber office bearer was due in September. Apart from seven office bearers, the new members of Chamber are Aditya Malhotra, Amit Sharma, RD Singh, Shailesh Agarwal, Sanjay Akhauri, Soni Mehta, Varun Jalan, Amit Kishore, Manish Kumar Saraf, Mukesh Aggarwal, Navjot Alang, Rahul Sabu, Rohit Aggarwal and Vikas Vijayvargiya.
