Pratul snubs Hemant for EVM remark

The State BJP unit on Sunday snubbed former Chief Minister Hemant Soren for his remark in which he blamed EVM for Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) defeat in Lok Sabha elections claiming that the JMM leader is insulting people’s mandate.

State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said that if JMM and Soren family wins the election then EVM is error free, but when people starts rejecting them they starts raising fingers on EVM demanding election through ballot paper.

“Soren should accept people’s mandate instead of looking for loopholes in system. The defeat of JMM and its party chief Shibu Soren from Dumka is beginning of end of JMM in Santhal Pargana. There was strong resentment against JMM as people of Santhal region were upset as despite Gurujee’s poor health he was fielded from Dumka. Locals and tribal of Jharkhand have voted for development in this election,” said Shahdeo.

Shahdeo said that after his party’s defeat, Hemant has understood that nationalism was one of the main issues in election. “When borders are safe then the country will be safe. BJP had contested on the issue of development and nationalism this time,” he added.

The BJP spokesperson said that the defeat is shocking and humiliating for JMM that they are unable to digest it and now they are giving different kinds of excuses. He said,

“The people of State will again teach JMM in same language in upcoming State Assembly elections.”
