State BJP president and MP Deepak Prakash on Wednesday targeted the State government on tardy progress on execution of Har Ghar Nal Jal Yojana saying that the project is running slow due to victim corruption.
He said that the Central government's much ambitious scheme Har Ghar Nal Jal Yojana in Jharkhand has become a victim of corruption. Sharing the work progress, Prakash said that as per figures 54 per cent of the work of Nal Jal Yojana across the country has been completed whereas in Jharkhand it is limited to only 24 per cent.
He said that the JMM/Congress alliance government believes in hanging, diverting and stalling the welfare schemes of the Modi government as the present alliance government in State has nothing to do with development works.
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, about 60 lakh (59.23 lakh) families in Jharkhand are to benefit from this, but the pace of development is very slow. This is not for the first time that the BJP president had raised his concern over tardy progress of the scheme as a few months back, ruling party legislator Deepika Pandey Singh too had raised her concern.
The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, in response to a question asked by MLA Deepika Pandey Singh in the ongoing winter session of the Vidhan Sabha, has said that by December 15, 2021, 16.54 percent of the tap water supply under the mission in the state has been achieved.
Work on this scheme has started from August, 2019 across the country including Jharkhand. The target is to provide this benefit to all rural households by 2024. The Department of Drinking Water Sanitation says that at present, plans have been approved to achieve 75 per cent of the target and for this implementation action is being taken at various levels. He said that the possibility of completion of Har Ghar Nal Jal Yojana in the Government by 2024 has ended.
In Jharkhand, the highest achievement has been recorded under this mission in Ramgarh district, where 43.86 per cent of the households are claiming to have water through tap connections. Talking about the state capital Ranchi district, tap connection has been provided to 32.53 houses here. The worst performer in the state has been that of Pakur district, where only 4.29 per cent households have been able to take advantage of this facility.
The BJP leader also said that whether it is Ayushman Yojana, Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, Village Road Scheme, all schemes have succumbed to corruption. He said that there is a flaw in the policy and intention of the state government. The government is busy promoting appeasement except development works.
