After days of jerks and blinking power situation in the Capital and also other parts of the State, it improved on Thursday and leaped to normalcy, authorities in Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam limited said.
According to the power input coming from within the State, one unit of Tenughat Vidyut Nigam limited (TVNl) has been restored to service while the Unit Number-10 of Patratu Thermal Power Station (PTPS) has also improved its generation.
“Today, power has returned to normalcy throughout the State and also in Ranchi. Earlier, there was loss of about 350 MW due to shutting down of two units of TVNl. But today its second unit has started generating 175 MW of power which has improved the situation,” said an official of JBVNl. However, Unit-1 of the State owned power plant is still undergoing maintenance.
This apart, another State owned plant PTPS which was able to generate just 35 MW till Wednesday has started producing 75 MW on Thursday that has filled the gap considerably. “Unit number 10 of the PTPS is normal now and we are getting full load power from there,” added the official.
Ranchi and many parts of the State, including Palamu, Garhwa, Hazaribagh, latehar etc had to suffer badly due to the power crisis for last four-five days. Most of the demand of the State which is nearly 1,000 MW is met from the DVC, central pool and two independent power plants operational here.
Meanwhile, another respite came from Wednesday night in the form of 50 MW from hydro based Sikidri power station. “The plant was started last night and we are getting 50 MW from there which came as a big relief in the crisis situation like this,” said the official.
