Electricity consumers will start getting their bills this month said managing director Jharkhand Bijlee Vitran Nigam Rahul Purwar. Consumers of Palamu have not got their bills since April.
Purwar said, “I know a large number of electricity consumers have not got their monthly electricity bills since this April . This is now to be resolved soon. Consumers will start getting bills this month.”
Asked that payment of 4 month bills at one time would tax the consumers the hardest way Purwar said the consumers will be given an opportunity to pay the bills in installments and bigger the installments the lesser will be the woes of the consumers. However consumers have hailed the MD Rahul Purwar that their connections of power supply were not discontinued since April. Asked for this inordinate delay Purwar said when there is the replacement of old order by a new one the transitional hiccups are there.
He said latehar, Garhwa and Palamu are just three districts where this transition has been delayed but it will be over soon.
Urja Mitra will visit the households where electricity connections are, will do a meter reading with its photo graphs, will offer instant bill, collect money in respect of billsand a consumer will be free to pay the bill by his own mode or through Urja Mitra.
Purwar sounded tough for thieves of electricity and said such theft of electricity would be curbed with a very tough hand.
Consumers have drawn the attention of the MD towards many an old and over aged trees across the roads and near the over head electricity wires which on a light shower or low speed wind suffer truncation of its branches and these branches just fell on electricity wires and poles snapping the whole power line of the locality.
Sources said neither the Nagar Parishad officials nor the forest department officials bother for such risk laden trees near the mesh of electricity wires.
Sources said once the branch of a tree falls on electricity wires and the wires or the poles that get snapped or uprooted it is only the personnel of the electricity department that sweats out to restore power supply.
