Privatisation of all the public services may not be the best solution as it appears to be, at least when it comes to billing, as BSES starts billing the customers in hefty numbers.
The first shocker came to one K Ram, whose usual monthly electricity bill used to be within Rs 300 to 400 only. However, the consumer virtually received an electric shock when he recieved the bill, for his connection no JWD-2018, of Rs 7,000 for the month of January
Adding insult to injury was the inability of the electricity officials, who allegedly said, off the record, that because the meter reading is not in their hands it is not possible for them to resend the corrected bills even if it appears to be a visible mistake.
The agitating crowd led to a meeting at electricity office by secretary Prem Prakash and party leader Shyamdev Yadav. The duo threatened to resort to traffic jam next month if the situation persists.
