Polling in 50 booths of Koderma parliamentary constituency which comes in the administrative jurisdiction of Hazaribagh district, concluded peacefully on Thursday 10th April. Talking to newsmen DC Hazaribagh Sunil Kumar said that about 60% polling has been recorded in 250 booths of Koderma constituency which is in Hazaribagh district. It may go up a little as reports are still pouring in the information center from different booths.

It was the first phase of election in Jharkhand today which passed off peacefully in Hazaribagh district area. DC Kumar said that only 2 genuine complains came to us today and as per instructions the polling parties acted and concluded the process. From booth no. 375 of Bagodar assembly constituency report of defect in EVM came and immediately the machine was changed.

From the Fufundi village of Ichak block, booth no. 296 of Barkattha report came that a bomb is planted there so the booth was shifted immediately to another building where 56.77% voters used their right.

In both Barkattha and Bagodar assembly constituencies of Koderma seat voting actually picked up after 10 a.m. Despite penetrating sunlight and heat long queues were seen at various booths. It seems that in rural areas people came to use their right after finishing their work and having lunch.

This time the voters were not hesitating even answering questions like, whom you have voted and whyIJ The answers of voters of two assembly segments of Koderma seat indicates that here there is a contest between BJP and CPI(Ml). JVM and other parties have their presence in the area but it was not of similar pattern in every area.
