Politics over the poor must be stopped in Jharkhand: CM

Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that the primary motive of his Government was to remove poverty from the State by making people self-dependent after creating avenues of employment in the villages itself. Das was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for legal Service Clinic at Badam-Jaratoli in Namkom near Ranchi on Monday.

“Politics over the poor must be stopped in this state,” said the CM. Das also added that development of State could be brought only with the development of the individuals as providing electricity, water and roads to the people was not the only parameter of development.

“Acts are being simplified in the State to develop essential infrastructure but people have started doing politics on it. They (Opposition) do not have to do anything with the development, they are interested in doing politics only,” said the CM. They did not do anything during their regime, but are now questioning the government which had been trying to do something in this regard, he added. The legal service clinic will be set up by Rajya Sabha Member Parimal Nathwani who has adopted the village under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. It will be set up in association with Jharkhand State legal Service Authority. Judge of Jharkhand High Court and Executive Chairman of Jharkhand legal Service Authority (JHAlSA) Justice DN Patel and other dignitaries also graced the occasion with their presence. The legal Services Clinic will be constructed on 3,000 square feet area at the cost of Rs 60 lakh. The two-storied building will have a chamber for a judge and two chambers for lawyers on the ground floor. It will also have separate waiting lounges for ladies and gents with toilet blocks, entrance foyer, notice board space, record room and canteen. On the first floor, there will be auditorium cum conference room cum counseling class room along with two rooms for the volunteers and toilet blocks. The paved parking area will accommodate two cars and several two-wheelers. Speaking on the occasion, Nathwani said, “I am pleased to announce that first legal Services Clinic has been built in Baram Panchayat, which is adopted by me under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. This is one of the humble efforts to realize the dream and vision of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi about model village.”

“legal Services Clinic is an ‘One Stop Centre’ to ensure easy and free access to justice to women, children, differently abled persons, prisoners and all the persons belonging to most marginalized section of society”, said Nathwani.

The Rajya Sabha MP also requested Chief Minister to instruct the concerned departments to expedite the construction of model school and construction of 14 km long road connecting Ranchi and Purulia and 1.5 km road from Hara Ghat to Baram. He also informed that 624 toilets have been sanctioned in Baram Panchayat and 450 toilets in Chuttu Panchayat, which is his next Adarsh Village under SAGY, and requested to expedite the work so that people can use toilets.
