In the wake of reports coming in from rural areas that Maoist outfits have been depositing their black money earned though levy and other illegal resources into the bank accounts of the poor villagers to be withdrawn later after the things get normalised, the police have warned them that such an activity might attract legal action against them. Pamphlets have been prepared by the police appealing the villagers to not be carried away by the allurements offered by the Maoists, which will distributed among the villagers to make them aware of it.

“It is an appeal to the villagers to foil the intentions of Maoists by not getting indulged in such activities and be a part in making Jharkhand progressive and fearless state,” read the poster. Such an activity was purely illegal and the police have been keeping a close eye on such transactions, it said.

As Maoists reportedly have been forcing people in the Naxal hit districts of Gumla, lohardaga and latehar to deposit small amounts in their Jan Dhan Yojana accounts, an alert has been raised by Jharkhand Police to keep a tab on such suspicious transactions.

Meanwhile, DGP DK Pandey laying foundation stone for Temporary Out Post (TOP) in Doranda College Campus, said that such a move will help in maintaining strict discipline and law and order in the college campus. Very soon, TOPs in all the Colleges of Ranchi would be set up very soon, he added.

“Girl students will get better security with the opening of TOPs in the Colleges,” said the DGP.

The DGP also informed that the proposal for setting up TOPs in Colleges was made by the SSP which was brought on the ground on Saturday. “With the opening of these TOPs, entry of the outsiders will get restricted and the students will get a sense of security inside the College Campuses,” DGP said.

Stressing that there will be a greater participation of women in the security of the city, as 33 per cent reservation will be given to them for 25,000 new recruitments in police department.
