Garhwa Police took custody of a half-burnt dead body of Geeta Devi from pyre at village Dubey Marhtiya tola Telma under the same police station, on Saturday. Police sent the corpse to Garhwa hospital for autopsy. Getting information that her in-laws were taking the body for funeral, the Police took the dead body in their possession and sent for post mortem.
According to the father of the deceased Rambhag Chaudhary, a resident of Village Hoor, "When I got the news of Geeta's death, I informed to the police that his daughter has been murdered. Her husband Basant Chaudhari came and told that Geeta had consumed poison."
Geeta was married to Ravindra Chaudhary, an army man, currently posted in Barmer of Rajasthan. Four days ago he had come on vacation and then a dispute got erupted between them. Rambhag Chaudhary alleged that her daughter has been killed.
Officer-in-charge Anil Kumar Singh said that the police have arrested Ravindra Chaudhary.
