The officer in-charge of Barkattha police station, Baleshwar Tiwari, died in a major road accident on June 25. The driver of his vehicle Md Salim also died in this accident. Three others got serious injuries and after preliminary medical treatment, they were referred to RIMS Ranchi by the doctors of Sadar Hospital, Hazaribagh.
As per the discussions going on in the Sadar Hospital campus, OIC Tiwari had come to Hazaribagh to appear in a case in the court. After appearing in the court and finishing some more work in the headquarters, he was returning to Barkattha with his associates.
Near Padma on NH 33 his vehicle was dashed by a tanker. The collision was so grievous that both the front sitters died while those on the back seats got serious injuries. Avdhesh Yadav, Ganpat and one more person has been sent to RIMS Ranchi while the policemen along with SP, DSP and other senior officers were waiting for the relatives of both Tiwari and Salim in the hospital campus at the time of filing of this report.
