Police late last night picked up two city-based businessmen Sanjay Palsania and Binod Singh for keeping close links with the gangster Akhilesh Singh. Police have started probing all the cases related with the gangster.
Palsania has a mini-steel plant at Chandil and Singh is the owner of Citi Inn, a hotel at Pardih. Sources in the police said during the police remand of the gangster Akhilesh, it was known that Palsania and several other businessmen with mini steel plants in Jamshedpur and Seraikela-Kharsawan district would take his help in running their business of scrap-iron. The owner of Citi Inn would provide his hotel to Akhilesh for striking a deal with those involved in scrap-iron business for taking commission and also to help the owners of mini-steel plants. Sources said both Palsania and Binod Singh are being interrogated in separate police stations of the city. Akhilesh has several criminal cases pending against him.
