Police arrested the sub zonal commander of banned outfit JJMP, which is active in Hazaribagh, Chatra and Ramgarh districts nowadays along with one another member of the group. Hazaribagh SP said on Tuesday that the sub-zonal commander of JJMP, Jugeshwar Mahto, and his associate Bablu Mahto have been arrested by the police.
The SP said that both are residents of Baherwatari village of Keredari block. Police has seized two pistols of 9 mm, some live cartridges, three mobiles and 8 SIM cards from them. The SP said that Jugeshwar was involved in the bomb blast incident of Jordag Middle School which had taken place few days ago. Jugeshwar alias Ajay Ji and his allies were involved in extorting money from the businessmen of three districts since last one year. They were also involved in the incident of creating panic in the weigh bridge site of Amrapali Colliery situated on Chatra-Tandwa Road and in the camp of Singhania Company, he added.
Talking about the activities of the outfit JJMP, SP Birthare said that the Commander of this group is Pradeep Mahto. Anil Bhuinyan said to be his right hand and several cases have been lodged in different police stations of Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh and Chatra districts of the state. He said that the commander and his associates will soon be behind the bars.
According to our Keredari sources the police team that was following the petrol pump looters two days ago has made these arrests. Actually during chasing the criminals the joint team of police, Jaguar and CRPF, suddenly came in front of a group of extremists of JJMP. The joint team succeeded in nabbing Jugeshwar and Bablu while other members succeeded to escape. In this joint operation Awadhesh Singh of Keredari police, RN Pathak of 22nd battalion of CRPF and Prayag Das of Jharkhand Jaguar were leading the forces.
