Hazaribagh police have finally revealed the conspiracy behind the broad day light shootout on district board chairman’s husband lakhan Sao a week ago. In an especially called Press conference SP Anup Birthare informed that the gang involved in this incident has been busted with the arrest of four criminals. The kingpin is still absconding but soon he will also be behind the bars, the SP added.
Talking with newsmen in his office chamber SP Birthare said that the reason behind this
incident was supremacy in the tender and other works of NTPC in Barkagaon and Keredari area. He said that the former bodyguard of lakhan Sao named Prakash Thakur had given the task of killing lakhan Sao to the criminals of Bihar with a promise to pay Rs 20 lakh.
Thakur was a member of Sushil Srivastava gang when lakhan Sao was also associated with him. Thakur had just came out from jail after completing the tenure of his imprisonment ordered by a court in an old case. After coming out of jail he started taking bids of NTPC in Barkagaon and Keredari area where lakhan Sao was also active. The rivalry reached to a state where either Sao or Thakur can remain in the fray. So Thakur took the decision and started searching his old fellows of crime field.
Thakur first approached Subodh Kumar of lakhisarai, Bihar, who arranged the shooters with the help of a kingpin whose name was not disclosed by SP Birthare. The first meeting of criminals took place at lakhisarai and the plan was prepared. Second meeting took place at Hazaribagh in Manokamna hotel where everything was finalised.
On the day of incident six criminals followed lakhan Sao, who first went straight to MlA Manish Jaiswal’s house and when he was on his way to Barkagaon the shootout took place. After that the criminals escaped towards Ranchi and from Ranchi they went back to Bihar.
Police have nabbed Pappu Chaudhary of Nawagarhi, Mongyr, Pankaj Kumar of lakhisarai, Nikesh Gautam of Bakhtiyaarpur and Pramod Mahto of Barkagon in this shootout case.
SP Birthare said that we had taken this case as a challenge and to solve the mystery a team of police officials was constituted which busted the gang involved in this incident within a week. DSP Chandan Vats was the team leader while Jeetendra Kumar Singh OIC sadar PS, Suman Kumar OIC Muffasil, Sudama Kumar Das OIC Chauparan, Rajiv Kumar OIC Giddi and Parmanand Kumar Dhiraj OIC Urimari PS were the members of this team.
