Ranchi police personnel conducted a mock drill on Thursday to brush up their riot-control skills in preparation for the two-day economic blockade called by Jharkhand Vikas Morcha against the State Domicile Policy.
A contingent of around 40 policemen armed with batons, shields, smoke grenades and tear gas pellets, along with riot control vehicles and water cannon, displayed their co-ordination in controlling a rioting mob.
Talking to the police forces after the mock drill, Ranchi SSP Kuldeep Dwivedi said, “You should not lag behind in controlling destructive elements engaging in violence or arson. Take decisive action against them. Respond to aggressive mobs in a well-coordinated and coolheaded manner.
