Police crack murder case; assailant held

Police solved a murder case within 24 hours after it was registered with the Birsanagar police station area on Saturday. The police arrested a 35-year-old man Kanhu Tudu who  allegedly murdered a 29-year-old woman, Kishori Tudu, on Friday evening. The police have also seized the cellphones of both the murder victim as well as the assailant after arresting the accused. Body of Kishori was found hanging from the ceiling fan at the rented house of one Vishwanath Nayak in Zone No 5 of Birsanagar on Saturday morning.  In this connection, the police had registered a case of suicide on the FIR lodged by the house owner.

But, as the door of the room in which Kishori  used to stay in rent was not locked from inside, the police had suspicion that it might not be a suicidal case.

Revealing about the breakthrough, senior SP, Anoop Birtharay said that both Kishori and Kanhu who were residents Jadugora and Potka respectively had affair between them and would stay together in a rented house at Birsanagar Zone No 2 since the past one year. "As per our investigation due to some reasons there was dispute between the two, leading the woman to leave the place and start staying in another place in Birsanagar.  But the man was willing to make her to stay with him.  The woman had not disclosed the address of her new place, but as the man would work as a mason in the same place as Kishori, he followed her after her duty was over and arrived at her rented house on Friday evening," said the senior police officer. The man himself killed her and planned it as if she committed suicide.
