Police conduct flag march in Daltonganj

An impressive flag march was conducted in the town of Daltonganj today. It was led by the assistant superintendent of police and SDPO Rishabha Garg IPS and the sub divisional magistrate Rajesh Kumar Sah.

Women and children watched the flag march from the rooftops and some of them even made videos of the march. Bystanders watched it with curiosity although flag march is now no novel thing here or anywhere else in Jharkhand.

This correspondent spoke to Rishabha Garg who said "We marched on the streets for around 5 kilometers." Weather favoured the march as the Sun today was not scorching.

He said "We negotiated those routes which are places of worship of either the Hindus or the Muslims or both of them just to feel the pulse there about the ongoing Ramnavami Puja."

Garg further said "We came across nearly half a dozen places of worship during our flag march. We found things at peace there."

On being asked if during the flag march he and his officials noticed any narrow lane or chicken neck through which rolling out of any procession be it Ramnavami or Muharram could be difficult Garg said "We did find some chicken necks. It was all due to disorganised parking of bikes etc. We were told these are removed before the passage of the procession."

SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha on being asked as to what prompted or stirred him to order for the conduct of the flag march to which he said "Flag march is a preventive measure. It is an integral part of the standard operational procedure of the police."
